A few weeks ago I got into on twitter with someone who thought the idea of Tyree being a high profile, draft pick, as in one of if not the highest QB in the draft, was laughable.
It’s always a long shot, for nearly any player, but I think Jackson has as much a chance as any college QB right now.
Jackson became the first UB quarterback to be named to the O’Brien preseason watchlist, an award given annually to college football’s top quarterback.
He’s already down to being one of the top 26 QB’s in the country, and the ball has not even been snapped yet.
Last season, in an injury shortened season, he threw for 2,096 yards and 12 touchdowns to only three interceptions. What’s more impressive is that his passing numbers ticked up significantly after coming back from injury.
The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation’s best college quarterback.
The next stage is for Jackson to make the cut to 16, which happens in early November. The 2018 Davey O’Brien Award winner will be unveiled live Thursday, Dec. 6, during The Home Depot College Football Awards.
The 2018 season marks the 12th year that fans will be invited to participate in the voting process on VoteOBrien.org.
