Kyle Vantrease - Quarterback - Buffalo Bulls Recruiting

It's the annual Bull Run countdown to signing day

Could the marquee signee of this year's class be a Quarterback? Maybe...

There is still nearly a month until signing day and UB only has about 10 public offers. Of those offers Vantrease is probably the biggest name the Bulls have. He's a pro-set quarterback out of Ohio who held offers from every team in the MAC East, Toledo, and Cincinnati.

In a run first offense Vantrease still passed for nearly 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns in his junior year and his touchdown to interception ratio was nearly 4:1 this past season.

Vantrease led Stow to the Ohio State playoffs for two straight years and the state semi-finals in 2015.

Scouts have talked about his arm strength but his coach focuses on Kyle's ability to understand the offense he's working in and make the right decisions.

In the spring Kyle was a shot put and discus thrower for Stow which might explain come of his camp measurables as reported by ESPN.

His "kneeling power throw" ( new to SPARQ testing ) was 41 feet, 4 feet away from the nations best throw and 14 feet ahead of the lower end of sampled quarterbacks.

Buffalo loses Grant Rohach to graduation, and Tyree Jackson is pretty well entrenched as the starter. The other two quarterbacks on the roster he will be competing with are Todd Larocca and Dominic Johnson.
