Jacob Martinez was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Martinez returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown in the Bulls 51-14 win over Albany on Saturday. The Bulls' sophomore became the first UB punt returner to take one to the house in 13 years. Andre Forde was the last UB player to accomplish the feat when he had an 83-yard punt return touchdown against Lehigh on Aug. 29, 2002. It was a span of 154 games and ended the longest drought in the FBS. The Florida native, who also had an 18-yard kickoff return, had a solid game as a receiver as well, hauling in four catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. Martinez and the Bulls will next face Penn State in Happy Valley on Saturday at noon.
