Men's Swimming and Diving Senior Salutes: Eric Forrester John Nord

UB Athletics

It's hard to believe, but the swimming and diving season is nearly over, at least in terms of competitions. There's still some time before the MAC Women's and Men's Swimming and Diving Championships happen on consecutive weekends, but this weekend features the last two dual meets for the Bulls.

The Swimming and Diving Coaching staff is touting Saturday's women's-only dual against Bowling Green as Senior Day for the three seniors on the women's team, but there's nothing about men's Senior Day. Perhaps there's something else planned, but it looks to me like tonight against Bonaventure is the last chance for UB's two seniors.

If I'm wrong, deepest apologies. But we certainly don't want to miss out on recognizing any of UB's seniors before they leave the Blue and White behind.

Without drawing the focus away too much, you'll notice that Swimming and Diving has extremely few seniors this year, which is hopefully a portent for even higher successes in the future.

Eric Forrester, Back/Fly/Free, Canonsburg, PA

Personal Bests: 100 Back - 49.82, 200 Back - 1:49.24, 100 Fly - 48.84, 50 Free - 22.30*

*denotes mark set in 2014-15 season

Before UB: Forrester was an All-American in both the 100 Back and 100 Fly in high school while earning First Team All-State Honors at Canon-McMillan High School at Pennsylvania

As a Bull: To date, Forrester's senior year has been different from his first three, with more of his race action coming as the third leg in the 200 medley relay and the 50 free, instead of the backstroke and butterfly races of his first three years. Eric is a four-time top ten finisher at the MAC Championships and an Academic All-MAC honoree, and has UB top-ten all-time times in both the 200 back and 100 fly.

John Nord, Breast/IM, Ithaca, PA

SWIM Nord Headshot

Personal Bests: 200 IM - 1:52.79, 100 Breast - 55.77, 200 Breast - 1:59.43

Before UB: John was a four-time all-conference honoree in the Southern Tier and finished in the top four of both the 100 Breast and 200 IM at the 2011 NYS Championships. He holds the sectional records in both those races.

As a Bull: Five top-ten finishes in the MAC Championships, with three coming in the 200 Breast, in which he hit the NCAA 'B' cut in 2014. Like Forrester, Nord is an Academic All-MAC honoree. In UB history he is second only to Scott Huang in the 200 breast and is fourth all-time in the 100 breast.

Thanks for your time in Amherst, Eric and John! And please, please, beat the hell out of Bonaventure today.
