Naming Rights: In 1971 the stadium was named after Wooster born Robert C. Dix. Dix a Wisconsin grad was a journalist and became lead editor of the Kent Record-Courier in 1939. He served on the Kent State University Board of Trustees from 1941-1973.

History:

UB is 9-10 all-time against Kent, UB's last defeat at Dix Stadium came in 2003. Since then, UB has won three straight at Dix, however it has been close, those wins were by a total of 14 points.


2011 Highlights: After a 5-7 season new coach Darrell Hazell started his Kent tenure 1-6. After a bye week, Kent won 4 straight MAC games and finished the season 5-7 (4-4) again.

2012 Highlights: Kent started shaky, an unimpressive win at Buffalo and a 2 point win at home against Ball State, but as the wins kept coming, the confidence and play of Kent grew. Kent won 10 straight including a win over #15 Rutgers on route to a #19 ranking a MAC East Championship and a winner takes the BCS MAC Championship Game against NIU. After falling in the MAC Championship, Kent lost their coach to Purdue, and the GoDaddy.com Bowl to Arkansas State.


2013 Outlook: Kent replaces a 4 year starter at QB and half of their secondary. Kent was selected to finish 3rd in the MAC East.
