2010 - Carlson got his first start as part of Jeff Quinn's mid season line shakeup against Temple. On the year playd in seven games.

2011 - Once again Carlson was a backup until UB took on Temple. At that point the Sophomore got a start and follwed up with three more to wind up the season.

2012 - While the Bulls had trouble getting consecutive stars out of their injury riddled backfiled they had no such issued on the lin. Carlson started all 12 games and he helped lead a group that improved the team’s total offensive yardage from 2011 as UB racked up 2,120 rushing yards. During the post season luncheon he was awarded the team’s Offensive Line UBelieve Award.
