According to Paul Peck there will be two Buffalo Bulls trying ro break into the NFL this spring. In addition to Marcus Rivers, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the packers, Buffalo fans can root for nose tackle Richie Smith who will be attending the Jet's "Rookie Tryouts"
Smith came to Buffalo from Pen Argyl high school in Pennsylvania. Despite suffering a serious leg injury as a senior Smith was nominated for the McDonald’s All-Star Game, the Big 33 (Ohio vs. Pennsylvania) and East-West All-Star games.
During his UB Career smith saw action in 48 games, recorded 95 tackles, and put up three sacks. His biggest contribution was being able to fill in at nose tackle when the Bulls, under then defensive coordinator William Inge, changed from a 4-3 to a 3-4 back in 2010.
To follow the Jets more closely don't forget to check out Gang Green Nation, SBNation's home for the New York Jets.
