Buffalo has offered a scholarship to Mark Jacob, a linebacker from Saint Xavier high school in Cincinnati Ohio. The offer is noted on several recruiting sites including Scout and ScoutingOhio. Mark will be a three year starter when he begins his senior season this fall.
Jacob lists himself specifically as an outside linebacker. He is already a decent size for a prep linebacker, he also has room on his frame to carry a bit more bulk. Most UB Linebackers check in between 6-3 and 6-5, usually they are in the neighborhood of 240 pounds. Mark is currently 6-2 and weighs 215 pounds.
Last season he was named to the 2nd All GCL-South team. During the season Jacob put up 110 Total Tackles including 12.5 Tackles For Loss. He also tallied 6 Sacks and 2 Forced Fumbles.
This is the sixth known linebacker offer extended by the UB Coaching Staff. With seven of UB's linebackers being upperclassmen coach Patterson and Quinn seem intent on reloading the position this year.
