I'm still convinced that NIU is the best team in the conference, but it's not lost on me that the Huskies drew crossovers against UB, UMass, and Akron. Arguably the worst teams in the conference.
Rank | Team | +/- | Comment |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Northern Illinois | 0 | NIU continues to be be only MAC power than dominates their opponents week in and week out. 200 yards running and passing? Just another day for Jordan Lynch |
2 | Toledo | 1 | Idle Toledo benefits from Kent's struggles against Akron |
3 | Kent | -1 | As Ohio proved last week grudge games can be your undoing, and for a good part of today's game Akron was on track. Kent however was able to turn things around |
4 | Ohio | 0 | This is how you need to be beating teams like Akron, Buffalo and UMass. The loss to Miami might have been the wake up call that the Bobcats needed |
5 | Bowling Green | 0 | Not a bad week to be idle for Bowling Green. They got to watch Miami Lose and see Kent Struggle against Akron. The Falcons now control their destiny in the East |
6 | Ball State | 0 | The Cards have Toledo and Ohio, it’s a chance to either power into the post season or trip over the finish line. |
7 | Western Michigan |
1 | The Broncos need to finish out with wins against Buffalo and EMU. Not exactly a murderers row but if they struggled against the chips losing to UB or the Eagles is possible. |
8 | Central Michigan | 1 | The Chips had WMU on the ropes for most of the game, and then committed their only turnover with time running out just after the Broncos took the lead. It's been that kind of season |
9 | Miami | -2 | Tough road loss for Miami. Buffalo gave them every shot of winning, or at least going to overtime. Six wins can still happen but with Kent and BSU on the docket its not likely. |
10 | Buffalo | 1 | All season long UB has been playing one loss teams, and AQ schools. For the first time they were paied against a middling MAC school and they looked good. UB could win some more this year |
11 | Eastern Michigan | -1 | It was just last season everyone was talking about the turnaround in Ypsi. I wonder how many seasons of bad football 2011 secured for Ron English with EMU. |
12 | Akron | 0 | What ever you do don't sleep on Akron. Hard way to lose today but this is definitely a team moving in the right direction. |
13 | Umass | 0 | Hard draw for a first year FBS school to take on one of the top teams in the East. Then Again NIU's crossovers have been Buffalo, Akron, and UMass…. |
