Buffalo Coach Jeff Quinn has extended a scholarship offer to Hunter Knighton (left: Photo via via rivals). Knighton was can file the offer away with a growing collection. The Bulls join UMass, Navy, Old Dominion, and Purdue as teams that have shown an interest in the Defensive Ends services.
In addition to his offers Knighton is getting whispers from several other programs, including Pitt.
the 6-foot-6, 265-pound Defensive End from the Hun School in Princeton New Jersey recorded 50 solo tackles, 75 assisted tackles and ten sacks last season. Sleeper Prep has named Hunter on of their "150 prospects to watch", saying that Knighton "wraps up well, decent burst, contains the play back inside."
Knighton is the third current defensive lineman being targeted by the Bulls. UB has a lot of underclassmen now on the roster but the bulk of the meaningful contributions will come from two seniors, Steven Means and Wyatt Cahill. There is going to be a lot of room for this years defensive line recruits to make an impact in 2014 if not sooner.
