UB Women's Basketball will look to give fans a clean road sweep of Kent State this weekend after last night's Men's win. This afternoon the opponent is less formidable, as the Kent women are just 3-9 on the season and 0-2 in the early going in conference play.
The Bulls are coming off a strong home win against Central Michigan and are 1-1 in the MAC. Today's game will be their first against The East Division. Kent has also already played the Chippewas, losing 81-61. They've lost five straight dating back to early December.
The Golden Flashes are led offensively by 6-2 Jordan Korinek and average 65 points per game, but have the worst defense and worst scoring differential in the MAC by wide margins. There's still plenty of height on the roster without graduated forward CiCi Shannon, but like UB Kent has a very young team.
This game could be a jump start for the UB offense, last in the conference in points, shooting percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage. The Bulls should capitalize on the conference's weakest rebounders, especially on the offensive glass, but will have to be sure to take care of the ball; Kent's only above average stat comes on defense as they generate upwards of ten steals a game.
Live stats are available here, video here, and audio from everyone's favourite Sloane Martin is in the usual place on the UB site.
