Buffalo Bulls Women's Tennis vs St. Francis: Bulls open season with 7-0 win over shorthanded Red Flash

UB Athletics

Wins are wins, and UB Women's Tennis coasted to an easy one this afternoon against St. Francis (PA), who failed to even post a complete lineup against UB, digging a hole for themselves from the outset and falling 7-0

We expect UB to be quite strong at the top of their lineup this year, and while SFU's incomplete lineup meant some shuffling for UB to make sure as many Bulls as possible got a match in, no one was seriously challenged at all.

Tanja Stojanovska and Chantal Martinez-Blanco, who will combine for plenty of wins at #1 and #2 singles this year, won in straight sets, as did Laura Holterbosch and freshman Sanjana Sudhir, who got the singles nod while Mercedes Losada Rubio, Margarita Kotok, and Dayana Agasieva only competed in doubles competition. Christine Haraldson was the only one from UB to not compete.

Doubles
1. Kotok/Agasieva (UB) def. Panizza/Plaszewski (SFU); 6-4
2. Holterbosch/Losada Rubio (UB) def. Gryckiewicz/ Miller (SFU); 6-4
