Women's Tennis closes out UB Invitational with dominant singles performance

UB Women's Tennis continued their strong start to the season - and to their own invitational - Sunday in dominant fashion, sweeping five singles flights and claiming a sixth championship in B Doubles.

You can click through on the sidebars for the full story of the first two days, but the short story is the Bulls could hardly have been better in singles, and were solid in doubles play, as well.

Bulls went 1-1 in their two remaining doubles matches, claiming Flight B with a 6-3 decision from Margarita Kotok and Dayana Agasieva while Laura Holterbosch and Tanja Stojanovska fell narrowly, 7-5, to a pairing from Duquesne.

In singles, where UB was a collective 14-0 through the first rounds of the tournament, Buffalo continued to roll. UB went 5-2 as a team across five flight finals, losing only in Flights A and B in intrasquad finals. Once again, no opponent pushed any Bull to three sets, though freshman Sanjana Sudhir took Margarita Kotok to 10-8 in the third set of the All-Buffalo Flight B final.

The weekend is an even stronger showing than last year's performance at the same event. Buffalo will now take a weekend off before closing their fall season at the ITA Regionals later in the month.
