Minnesota OT Kayode Awosika commits to Buffalo Bulls Football

Thought most of Buffalo's recruiting efforts lately have gone to offering members of the Class of 2017 and bringing already-committed student-athletes to UB on official visits, the Bulls added another to their 2016 class this morning in Minnesota OT Kayode Awosika.

At 6-5, 280, Ayosika has the frame to put on more weight but also - as you'll see in his highlights - some serious speed as both a pass rusher on defense and in getting to the second level effectively on offense. Very few people in this highlight reel could match his strength, and the few that did couldn't run with him when he shed their blocks:

By Rivals, Awosika is a three-star recruit, but has just two from Scout and 247. Still, the lineman is pretty universally considered a top-20 recruit from Minnesota and boasts a ton of offers, ranging from Iowa State, North Dakota State, and Nevada down through FCS schools, and interest, but no offer yet, from four Big Ten programs.

Kayode played high school ball for Maple Grove in Minnesota, where as a senior this year he was named All-District and All-State. Maple Grove themselves advanced to the state semifinal, where they fell 24-20.

Given his athleticism, it's unclear to me which side of the ball Awosika will play on with Buffalo, but he joins Connor Morehart, Alec Curts, Jake Fuzak, and Tomas Jack-Kurdyla as linemen in this class.
