Philadelphia Eagles sign former Buffalo LB Steven Means to active roster

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Steven Means is back on an active roster this afternoon, after the Philadelphia Eagles signed the linebacker away from Houston's practice squad.

Means looked in line for a career jump during a strong 2015 preseason with Baltimore, but suffered a groin injury - funnily, against the Eagles - and was released on September 3rd. Reportedly, he worked out with Philadelphia but did not receive a contract offer prior to signing with Houston.

Before 2015 he spent his rookie year and beginning of 2014 with Tampa Bay before landing with Baltimore midseason. He's not yet found much production, nor has he matched his rookie season, when he played in 10 games with the Buccaneers, but for now he's back on an active roster.

The Eagles host the Bills next Sunday at 1:00 PM. Coverage maps are not yet available, but with the Giants playing in primetime it's possible UB fans in many parts of the Northeast could catch the game.
