While the dates and times of UB's conference games are bound to shift around a bit between now and the season the Bulls first three games, out of conference contests, are pretty much set in stone. They will all be televised games with one of them being a Friday night prime time on ESPN.
Opponent | Date | Time | Television |
---|---|---|---|
Duquesne | Saturday, August 30, 2014 | 3:30 | ESPN3 |
@Army | Saturday, September 06, 2014 | 12:00 | CBSSN |
Baylor | Friday, September 12, 2014 | 8:00 | ESPN |
That's right UB fans! If you happen to live out of town like me then long gone are the days of listening to a WECK stream while watching ESPN game trackers. It's been this way for awhile now but this season sees UB open up with three TV* games and finish with four more. I'd assume that more of the home games will end up on ESPN3 and perhaps UB's deal with WGRZ will mean a local broadcast.
While ESPN3 is not technically a "televised" game the format has grown over the years from a mostly on-demand video website (ESPN360) to a fully incorporated part of the ESPN platform. For all intents and purposes it's a televised game if you subscribe to any of the largest Internet providers in the nation.
The Away game against Army will be shown on The CBS Sports Network. It's the network of Conference USA, the Mountain West Conference, the American Athletic Conference, Army and Navy.
Finally there is the big game against Baylor. The game was moved from Saturday to Friday night and put on ESPN. As a nationally televised game which is not up against a lot of other games this is a chance for UB to make a better showing than they did last year in Waco.
So far seven of the twelve games are on TV, hopefully with more to follow.
