In search of their first FBS win, UB took an early 10-3 lead on a Freedy to Forde TD pass and held a 13-10 lead at the half. UConn scored twice to take a 24-13 lead. Late in the fourth, UB cut the lead to 3 with a second Freedy to Forde TD pass and a 2-pt conversion. After stopping UConn and partially blocking the ensuing punt, UB had the ball at the 50-yard line. UB moved to the 32, but a sack left UB with only enough time for a 58-yard field goal or a hail mary. UB tried the field goal, which came up short.
