Who is wearing #58 in 2015?

Chris Ford

Hometown: Medina, Ohio

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Position: Defensive Line

High School: Medina

Freshman (2013): Ford redshirted.

Redshirt Freshman (2014): Ford played in 9 games at defensive tackle and recorded 3 tackles against Duquesne.

Outlook: Ford has been playing on the second string at DT. We don't expect him to displace Crawford or Perisse, but he may see playing time depending on the rotation of the new defense.

#58 UB Football Game

October 2, 2004 - UB 48, Central Florida 20

If you told the two fan bases in this game that in 2014 they would each have a player taken in the top 5 of the NFL draft, neither would have believed you. Yet, that is what happened when the then 0-3 UCF Knights (and future home of Blake Bortles) faced the 0-4 UB Bulls (future home of Khalil Mack). Do you think a 12 year old Bortles and a 13- year old Mack, their homes separated by 125 hours in Florida, saw this game and somewhere it made an impact on their future college decisions?

Nevertheless, it was a great day for UB. The offense only punted once before the 9 minute mark of the fourth quarter and three interceptions and two fourth down stops spoiled UCF's offensive momentum as UB earned their first victory of the year by a large margin.

On defense, Aaron Sanders, Anthony Adriano, James Vann and Phil Jacques had sacks while J.J. Gibson, Rich Sanders and James Evans had interceptions. The three headed running back core scored 5 TDs and ran for 207 yards on 36 carries. Datwan Hemingway and Chris Moore combined to play QB although Hemingway never passed, but he ran 7 times for 38 more yards on the ground. UB only attempted 7 passes and completed 5, but 1 completion was an 86-yard TD strike to Terrance Breaux in the 3rd quarter.

UB held future NFL star Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall to no receptions...mostly because he was UCF's starting safety. He recorded 4 tackles and a half sack in the game.
