Of UB's eight new faces added yesterday, equal numbers joined the offensive line and the secondary, but the defense may have won the most interesting prospect of the group in 5-9 cornerback Levarious Varnado, who played his first two years of college ball at Itawamba Community College in Mississippi.

If a little small at 5-9, 175, Varnado is your classic, do-it-all cornerback, racking up 71 tackles, seven pass breakups, three turnovers, and over 500 kick return yards - averaging over 20 yards a return - in his two years. He also caught two touchdowns and totaled 120 receiving yards in time on the offensive side as as freshman.
There's little out there on Varnado's recruiting, though he played for Calhoun City in high school.
