James Rojas becomes latest JUCO pickup for UB Men’s Basketball

Bulls now have four JUCO recruits in this class

Make that four JUCO prospects for Nate Oats’ current recruiting class with the addition of James Rojas.

Rojas, a 6-7 forward, is being considered by many as one of the top JUCO forwards out there. He’s currently a sophomore at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

His style of play is going to fit right in with the way Nate Oats runs things. His size along with the ability to shoot the three-ball is going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses as a stretch-four.

Now in his second year at Hutchinson, Rojas is averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists through three games. He’s a Jamestown, NY native that averaged over 27 points and 11 rebounds at Jamestown High School.

It’s clear that Nate Oats isn’t interested in a rebuild now that a whopping fourth JUCO recruit will be joining the Bulls next season to add to senior transfers Antwain Johnson and Gabe Grant. Buffalo only has two more scholarships to give, so we’ll see if some freshmen recruits fall into the fray.
