UB Career

Pino originally played for Nate Oats back when Oats was the head coach at Romulus High School. Once he graduated, the Detroit native went to Arizona State where he red-shirted his first season. Pino then transferred to Buffalo as a walk-on and played in eleven games as a redshirt freshman. In those games he scored two points twice. Last year he saw action in 10 games including the MAC Tournament Quarterfinal.

The best part about his sophomore season? Pino — who stands at 5-7 — recorded a block in UB’s season opener versus Pitt-Bradford.

2016-17 Outlook

Christian Pino is a walk-on. It is what it is. Expect another year of seeing him in blowout situations but with full effort to try and get some buckets when those times come.
