Buffalo Bulls Men's Basketball Preview: Miami (Ohio) Redhawks

David Purdy/Getty Images

Four games into MAC play and Buffalo is at .500 with a 2-2 record. Looking back, it wouldn't take much for this team to be 4-0 in conference play but the past is the past. Last time around, this Bulls basketball team took down a struggling Central Michigan team without leading scorer Lamonte Bearden. This could happen again as they take on the Miami Redhawks tonight on the road. Miami is on a seven game losing streak and are having a tough time putting together the scoring necessary to win a lot of these games.

Miami has struggled this season, primarily as of late. They play deep as there are only two guys who seem to score a lot. Eric Washington is the guy UB will have to worry about. Last year he gave us a lot of trouble and scored 17 when he came to Alumni. They shoot the ball ok except from three. UB is really doing well at perimeter defense and held a Central Michigan team who thrives from the three point line to 25%. That means if all goes right, Miami shouldn't be a problem from beyond the arc.

Notable Opponents

  • Lost to Xavier
  • Won against UCF (Danny White's new home)
  • Lost by a point to a good Dayton team

Can We Win?

If there's a road game to steal during MAC play, it's this one. Miami is the bottom feeder of the MAC in this one and if UB doesn't win, I will be surprised.
