Saint Joseph's Hawks vs Buffalo Bulls basketball recap: Bulls lose second straight lopsided road game

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo fans hoping to see some improvement over Monday's lopsided loss to Old Dominion got little in Wednesday's contest against Saint Joseph's of the A-10, as the Hawks prevailed 89-67, leading for the final 36 minutes.

UB's offense struggled for the second consecutive game, hitting just 31% from the floor and getting nearly 25% of their points from the free throw line. The Bulls struggled to run an offense, tallying just ten assists in the game despite hoisting 71 shots. Lamonte Bearden in particular has failed to lead the charge in consecutive games now; after fouling out against Old Dominion, the sophomore did not register an assist and needed eight free throws to total 13 points on 2-12 shooting.

Isaiah Miles of Saint Joseph's led all scorers with 24 points, while no other Hawk topped 30 minutes after the hosts opened the bench early. Blake Hamilton led UB with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

UB will now at least travel to a neutral site for the final two games of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic as they'll play North Carolina A&T and Niagara or Vermont this Saturday and Sunday in Uncasville, CT.
