NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Buffalo vs UConn David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Under coach Felicia Leggett Jack, The Buffalo womens basketball team has become an annual contender for the Mid American Conference crown, this season is no different.

UB was picked third, but only eight points, and one first place vote, behind leading Toledo. Really it looks to be a horse race between UB, Ohio, and Bowling Green. When it comes to Cleveland UB has the most coaches looking at them to win, but again, it’s very close.

2021-22 MAC Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll (First Place Votes)

  • 1. Ohio – 132 points (4 first place votes)
  • 2. Bowling Green – 124 points (3)

  • 4. Kent State – 102 points
  • 5. Eastern Michigan – 83 points (1)
  • 6. Central Michigan – 80 points

UB is getting this recognition despite putting only one player on the MAC first or second team. Dyaisha Fair, who is also on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Watch List, was named first team.
