Watching Videos of UB Incoming Players — Chanse Robinson

Chanse Robinson, an incoming freshman point guard from Lincoln Preparatory HS in Grambling, LA, is listed as 6–0 according to most scouting services (although the Buffalo News says he is 6–3). And so the one thing I was not expecting was a point guard with outstanding vertical leaping abilities and shot blocking abilities.

Robinson is seen twice in the video receiving alley-oop type passes and finishing with a slam dunk. He also seems to be able to hang in the air and comes out of nowhere to block shots — clearly his opponents were not expecting this. Check out the blocked shot by Robinson beginning at 1:03 in the video, one of several impressive blocks in the video.

Robinson is also seen regularly dribbling into the paint and scoring, grabbing offensive rebound put-backs and playing at a level in the paint well above what you might expect from a 6–0 guard. Of course, at the traditional point guard skills, Robinson shows a high level of talent, making quick passes while running full speed. He is listed as the #41 point guard coming out of high school in 2020.

He averaged 20.8 points per game, 10.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.2 assists per game in three seasons at Lincoln Prep.
