The game was supposed to be a blowout sendoff to the MAC Championship game and it turned out to be....

A blowout sendoff to the MAC Championship Game. 56-7, and the game was not as close as that score makes it appear.

Behind more than 350 rushing yards several UB ball carriers piled up six rushing touchdowns. Kyle Vantrease threw a long score, and even the special teams unit kicked in with a blocked field goal which was returned for a touchdown.

The Defense suffocated Akron, keeping the Zips to less than two yards per carry and less than five yards per pass attempt.

With the win UB completes it’s third ever undefeated regular season (1896, and 1899), and will end the regular season ranked for the first time ever.

Next up for Buffalo is a trip to Detroit for a rematch of the 2008 MAC Championship game, against Ball State.
