Bulls Seniors Finish off Bowling Green at Alumni

NCAA Basketball: Bowling Green at Buffalo Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Don’t let the score fool you, despite the size of the win the Bulls once again played a game where they faced and overcame a gut check moment. UB started out fast, getting up to an 8-0 score and then at one point building up a 19 point lead in the first half.

It looked like the Bulls were going to cruise on senior night, and to their highest ever win total as a program. Then Bowling Green got serious and started to play like the team that upset UB last month.

They close to within 13 at the half and then continue to surge until the UB lead was down to a single point mid way through the second half.

It was senior night so a senior answered. Nick Perkins sparked a 14-5 run with work in the paint, off of that work the Bulls put up an 84-73 win to send of the seniors.

With the win this group of seniors got UB to a 28 win season, the highs in school history and puts them within shooting distance of Kent’s Mid American Conference Record of 30.

UB still has Cleveland to go, where they are a big favorite, and regardless of what happens in Cleveland they are seen as a lock for the 2019 NCAA tournament so we will still have some more time to watch this great seniot class but it was the last time on the home court for CJ Buckets, Perk, McCrea, Harris, and Dontay.

There is nothing we can add to describe just how much Nate Oats and these seniors have transformed UB Basketball.

We can look at the roster and see a ton of talent coming up, but the class of 2019 has left huge shoes for them to fill.
