NCAA Womens Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Albany Regional-Buffalo vs South Carolina Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Late last week the Bulls came out flat against Kent State and the flashes made them pay for it. Today they didn’t repeat that mistake and stormed out of the gate to take an 11-0 lead as the rolled over the Flashes 85-52

Cierra Dillard scored 22 points and got key contributions from Summer Hemphill (13 points) and Hannah Hall who was 4-5 from beyond the en route to a 16 point performance.

After falling behind 11-0 Kent went on a 7-0 run to close the score but that’s as close as they would get, by the time the first quarter was over he Bulls were up 20-9, at the half they ballooned the lead to 20 points (41-20).

UB will face CMU in the semi finals on Firday. The Chips were heavy favorites today but needed a buzzer beater in regulation to tie the game before pulling away from EMU to secure their end.

The game will be a Q center bumper match for the two teams who met in the 2016 and 2018 MAC Championships, splitting the games.
