Buffalo’s defense of their Mid American Tournament Championship begins against Akron who, for all intents and purposes, is playing a home game at the Q.
In game one the Bulls had more than a ten point lead that evaporated into two scores late and the Bulls clung to their lead, winning by six points.
In game two Akron went punch for punch with UB until the four minute mark when the Bulls pulled away for a 13 point victory.
The point is Akron has been a handful, and they looked like a problem long before they demolished the Miami Redhawks in the Campus round.
Akron’s led in scoring by 6-6 foward Daniel Utomi but the guy you might really have to watch is senior Jimond Ivey who leads the zips in rebounds, assists, and steals.
Buffalo has been “the hunted” for the entirety of conference play, and that’s only going to intensify this week in Cleveland.
Tipoff is at Noon tomorrow.
