UB's Top Basketball Lineups: Marquette

Welp, the pain of the Marquette game washed back over me. The great start, the 10 missed FTs during key moments of the game, and of course Howard going super saiyan oh well... for the second straight game, UB used 12 lineups in the game.

The overwhelmingly best lineup was: Jordan - Massinburg - Harris - Perkins - Caruthers

Against Marquette this lineup was +8 plus/minus and +5 corsi over 17:54 on the court.

The next best lineup was: Jordan - Graves - Massinburg - McRae - Harris

The starting lineup went +6 plus/minus and -2 corsi over 3:12.

Lineups we should have seen more of:

Jordan - Graves - Massinburg - McRae - Harris

The starting lineup went +6 during the first 3:03 of the game. Then the lineup only saw 9 seconds of action for the rest of the game.

Jordan - Graves - Perkins - Caruthers - Williams

A weird lineup that despite being outshot by 2, outscored Marquette 5-2. This is probably our 5 most aggressive defensive stoppers on the court at once, and I would have loved to have seen this lineup out there to disrupt Howard once he got hot.

Lineup we should have seen less of:

Jordan - Graves - Harris - Perkins - Caruthers
In their first two times on the court this lineup was 0 plus/minus, 0 corsi. Then, with 9:40 remaining and down 2, this lineup gave up an 8-0 run to basically end the hopes of the Bulls. Mind you, they stayed even on corsi. This lineup missed shots and couldn't get stops on the other end.

Jordan - Massinburg - Harris - Perkins - Caruthers
It was the best of lines it was the worst of lines. This line was +15 plus/minus and +6 corsi for their first 12:41 on the court. For the final 5:13 on the court they were -7 plus/minus and -1 corsi. We may have overused our best lineup and fell victim to fatigue, much like when Homer matched up against Drederick Tatum we found an opponent that wouldn't get tired and like Homer, we weren't able to punch back. Sadly there was no fan man to rescue us while the score was still close.

Worst lineups:

Jordan - Graves - Massinburg - Harris - Perkins
Normally one of our best lineups, our 2nd starting lineup was -7 plus/minus and -3 corsi over 5:31. 12:23 into the game UB led early 27-23 but this lineup kept Marquette alive by going -6 plus/minus during their first 2:26 mins on court.

Graves - Massinburg - Harris - Perkins - Caruthers
The worst lineup was 0 corsi, but -11 over 2:59 including allowing a 9-0 Marquette run.

Individual Plus Minus
Williams +4 (4 mins)
Fagan +1 (2 mins)
Betram 0 (2 mins)
McRae -2 (5 mins)
Segu -3 (4 mins)
Jordan -4 (34 mins)
Massinburg -14 (33 mins)
Graves -16 (18 mins)
Perkins -16 (32 mins)
Caruthers -18 (29 mins)
Harris -22 (37 mins)

Plus/minus player of the game: Davonta Jordan well we lost by 18, so the more you played the more close to -18 you're going to be. Jordan went -4, so, the 6 minutes he wasn't on the court were kinda disastrous.

Individual Corsi
Caruthers +1
Fagan +1
Betram 0
Perkins -1
Williams -1
Segu -1
Harris -2
Massinburg -2
Jordan -2
McRae -4
Graves -4

Corsi player of the game: Dontay Caruthers by default as the only player who played solid minutes and was a plus. UB's LVP was Theo John. His 7 blocks moved UB from +4 Corsi for the game to -3.
