Bulls down Akron to win the regular season title.

NCAA Basketball: Buffalo at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Akron made it interesting, but the Buffalo Bulls have clinched the conference regualr season crown and the number one seed in the MAC tournament.

Akron shot incredabally well in the first half. They were 60% from the floor and hit seven three points shots. Coming out of the half down by six to the Zips UB exploded for 48 points in the second half to pull away and beat the Zips.

After a UB surge early in the second half the Bulls finally tied the game at 49. Then UB and Akron traded runs until the game was notted up at 60 points. After Harris and Perkins scored back to back shots UB took the lead for good.

Akron stayed in the game until the final minutes when Zips head coach John Groce was lost it, charged onto the court, and started yelling at the officials. He was ejected and Buffalo was awarded a pair of technical fouls which was fittingly shot by seniors Ikenna Smart and Gabe Agorioge.

UB then dribbled out the clock, and had a senior net celebration which included cutting down the nets.

CJ Massinburg was huge on the night, he hit five 3-pointers and got a double-double for the eighth time this season. Senior Wes Clark added 18 points on Buffalo’s senior night.
