A few days after getting home from a trip to Ireland, and three days before starting their toughest road trip of the season, the Buffalo Bulls have a “tune up” game against Division II Le Moyne college tonight at Alumni Arena.

The Dolphins started their season with an exhibition game at the Carrier Dome, against Syracuse. So this is the second time the Division II program is taking on a ranked division one opponent this season. The Orange beat the Dolphins 89-52.

During the regular season Le Moyne is 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in NE10. At their level Le Moyne is a team that can score a lot of points. They are averaging over 70 points a game, with a slight bump because of a triple overtime thriller against Pitt-Johnstown.

The Bulls are just one of just 11 schools still undefeated on the season, joining Virginia, Gonzaga, Kansas, Nevada, Texas Tech, Houston, Michigan, St. John’s, Arizona State, and Furman.

While this is a “shake off the rust” kind of game, things are different when you’re trying to move up in the AP and Coaches poll. A win here, no matter how strong, is not going to move the needle for UB but a letup by the Bulls which leads to this game remotely resembling a tight contest could hurt them in the AP poll.
