UB Men rise to #17 in this weeks AP Poll

After a successful trip to Ireland, where the Bulls dispatched the Milwaukee Panthers and the previously undefeated San Francisco Dons UB finds itself ranked #17 in the county in this weeks AP poll.

UB sits just behind Kansas State and ahead of Iowa and Ohio State.

The win over San Francisco was probably a big part of UB moving up so much, but they also benefited from big point wins over some of the softer opposition they had faced.

The Bulls do have good opportunities both to build their NCAA tournament resume and to move up in the polls in the coming weeks.

UB has a tune up game scheduled against LaMoyne, to shake off the over seas trip, and then they have four very big games.

1 - Saint Bonaventure - The Bonnies have been down this year but they are starting to play better and are always a tough oppoent

2 - SIU - The last time these teams met SIU was getting votes in the AP polls and while they hit a bit of a wall when they played UMass they are still a formidable team that has already seen UB play once this year.

3 - Syracuse - The Orange had a bit of a rough start to the year but have recovered nicely, including a road win over Ohio State. They are “ranked” 27th in the AP poll and surly would like to knock off the Bulls in the dome to get back into the top 25.

4- Marquette - Like the Orange they had a bit of a bump in the road but have recovered. The just knocked off #12 Kansas State and are ranked right behind Syracuse in AP poll votes.

If somehow the Bulls can get though these games unscathed they will likely be in the low teens by the time they face off against Reggie Witherspoon and Canisius on December 29th.
