With 20 tackles against Minnesota there was little doubt in my mind that UB linebacker Khalil Hodge would be named the MAC East defensive player of the week. Today the conference announced it’s honors and of course Hodge was named.
Hodge had a career-high 20 tackles (eight solo) against the Gophers. The last time a Bull hit 20 tackles it was in 2008 when safety Davonte Shannon’s 20 stops against Army helped life UB to a comeback overtime win.
Last season Hodge led Buffalo with 123 tackles, so he’s already at the about 15% of his total from last season.
Hodge and the Bulls will square up with Army, on the road, this Saturday.
