Major League Monday

Because of the department's decision to drop the baseball program I have not had the stomach for following the Bulls in the baseball Pros.

But the more I think about it the more I think it’s important to keep some focus on UB’s baseball accomplishments in the hopes that someday the program will be restarted (it’s happened before)

So we bring back Major/Minor league mondays

The only Bull currently in the Majors, Tom Murphy, is back off Colorado’s disabled list. But it’s been a rough return. In two games he is 0/6 with one walk.

Steve Geltz has been in and out of the majors a few times and currently he is playing AAA ball for the Dodgers. And after a brutal year last season Geltz is having a decent year in Oklahoma City. He’s appeared in 16 games (19.1 innings). With a respectable 3.26 era and 21 strikeouts.

Mike Burke really had a rough start to his year. Early in the season the Right handers ERA was well over ten. He’s playing for the A-Advanced league Keys and has worked the number down to 5.28. If he keeps on pace he should survive the season.

Nick Sinay has turned himself into a HBP magnet. He’s batting below the Mendoza line but he has manged to get beaned more than 25 times this year. That number pushes his on base percentage to .393 and has helped him rack up 9 steals.

Mike Kaelin was have a good year in class A Burlington so he has been moved up to the A-Advanced “Inland Empire 66ers”

The Gulf Coast League has not yet started up so rookie pitcher Blair Lakso is just training.

Logan Harasta, who was earlier this month, has not yet been assigned to the team.
