Khalil Hodge only needed on season at Buffalo to land on “The Touchdown Club of Columbus’ 20 Players to Watch for 2017” list.
Hodge is one of 20 players nationally that the The Touchdown Club recognized tonight. The awards dinner was be held at the Express Live concert venue in downtown Columbus.
Hodge was a JUCO transfer from the City College of San Francisco. At San Francisco Community College, Hodge played in 13 games recording 72 tackles, 5 TFLs, a fumble recovery, and two INTs, one which was returned 31 yards for a touchdown.
In one season with the Bulls Hodge played in 12 games racking up an impressive 123 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and a sack. His effort in the army game, where he put up 16 total tackles and a sack, was a big reason for UB’s upset.
When the season was over Hodge was named All-MAC Second Team Defense.
Congratulations to Hodge, and let’s hope his 2017 season is strong enough to put him in the NFL.
