Buffalo Bulls Baseball at Murray State

Game 1 - Buffalo 12, Murray State 10

Alec Tuohy gave up nine runs in five innings but the Bulls bats were hot enough to push the pitcher to his second win of the season.

The Bulls got on the board first when Chris Kwitzer doubled off the before Brian Wasilewski connected on his first homer as a Bull. Before the inning was over Andrew Taft then singled to center and Brian Dudek's triple brought him in to make it 3-0. Dudek scored on a wild pitch later in the inning.

UB piled up more offensce in the fifth. When the Bulls were up 5-3 Ben Haefner and Vinny Mallaro back-to-back singled. In the next at bat Kwitzer belted a deep home run to give the Bulls the 8-3 lead.

UB put up three more runs in the next inning. Haefner opened the inning with his third hit of the game and he came around to score when Mallaro hit a double to deep left field. Mallaro also scored on the play via a throwing error. After Kwitzer connected on his first triple of the season, Murray State walked three straight batters as Dudek earned the RBI as he walked with the bases full to force home Kwitzer.

In the ninth UB went to Logan Harasta to close out the game. Harasta got the first out of the inning via a foul out and the second out on a ground ball to shortstop before striking out the final batter.

Game 2 - Murray State 12, Buffalo 4

Buffalo and Murray State started the game hot, and stayed close for six innings but then the Racers scored seven runs in their final two frames, dropping the Bulls 12-4.

UB hung two first inning runs on Murray State. Phillip Tomasulo got a lead off double to start the game and was moved over on an Alex Thrower ground out. Ben Haefner's single in the next at bat scored a run and a few batters late Chris Kwitzerhit an RBI single to center field.

The two run lead was flipped to a deficit. A pair of Buffalo errors got the Racers on the board and then a pair of home runs made the score 4-2.

UB started to climb back into the game in the fourth. UB scored one run in the fourth and again in the fifth to close the game to 5-4.

In the seventh the Racers scored two and the put u pfive more in the 8th.

Game 3

Buffalo used a great start on the mound and an offensive explosion in the second half of the game to down Murray State and win their first series of the year.

The game was scoreless going ingo the fourth. That's when Chris Kwitzer led off and reached base on an error. After that Kyle Brennan singled to center and Brian Wasilewski walked. With the bases loaded a wild pitched allowed Kwitzer to score. Brian Dudek hit a fielder's choice that scored Brennan from third and Phillip Tomasulo hit an RBI single to score Wasilewski.

Ben Haefner and Vinny Mallaro started the fifth inning with back-to-back singles. With runners on the corners anoter wild pitch scored a UB runner and then a Brennan single to scored Kwitzer.

In the seventh inning, already up 5-0, the Bulls hung five more runs on Murray State. Kyle Brennan started the scoring with a sac rbi of Mallaro. Then Brian Dudek hit a double to left which brought in Andrew Taft and Chris Kwitzer. Another error by the Racers scored Dudek and Alex Thrower singled to right to score Wasilewski and give UB the 10-0 lead.

Murray State would try to crawl back into the game late, putting four runs on UB reliever Ben Vey. But the the could not pull any closer.

With the win UB is 3-3 on the season.
