Eating Crow

So this is a post that I am obligated to make, but it’s a happy obligation.

While I was mingling with UB fans after the Bulls played Minnesota. someone asked me where I was during the game.

When I told them I was in the press box and wrote for Bull Run I got a wry smile from them.

“Why do you have to be so hard on coach Kotelnicki?”

That day the Buffalo offence only put up seven points, but they moved the ball well and were exciting to watch. It was the most fun I had had watching them play since 2013.

So I told the group... If UB’s offense plays like that all year then I’ll be happy to eat a little crow.

Well they not only played “Minnesota well” through the season, they played even better. Despite losing their starting half back, despite having to start three different quarterbacks because of injury, despite a spate of heart breaking losses.

The Offense not only held it’s own, it was one of the best in the MAC.

I don’t know if it was moving Kotelnicki to running back coach, or if it was just the culmination of what the UB staff was building.

But they made this a fun team to watch in 2017, and one of the best things to anticipate in all of Buffalo sports next year!
