Every game left this year is a must win, and today the Bulls won.
The offense was firing on all cylinders. Tyree Jackson had the best passing game of his career, Theo Anderson had his first 100 yard game, and Anthony Johnson was.... Well Anthony Johnson.
The Defense broke down at times but in the end they were able to make a few key plays. One of them was a fumble recovery late in the game which sealed the win for Buffalo.
After a strip and recovery fumble by Justin Brandon UB scored first on a 5-yard touchdown run by Emmanuel Reed.
UB would score two more times in the first quarter. The first was a 21-yard TD pass from Jackson to Johnson which gave 14-7 lead. The next was a the same two players hooking up for a 69-yard touchdown.
But as UB was trying to score late in the half Reed fumbled the ball away and the defense let Bowling Green drive 98 yards to close the score to 21-14.
The teams traded scores in the second half. After the Bulls took a 31-21 lead Bowling Green went on a 4 play 66 yard drive to pull within a field goal, the closest they had been since the score was 7-7.
Buffalo regained a two score lead on a seven play drive anchored by five Theo Anderson runs and capped by a 8 yard Anderson scamper.
UB is 4-6 with games remaining at Ball State and Ohio. If the Bulls can win that pair they will be bowling for the first time since 2013, if they lose one it will be an off season of reflecting on close losses.
