For the first time since 2011 the UB Bulls have started the season 2-0 but it took a lot of last minute nail biting for Buffalo to finally put down visiting Jacksonville State.

UB started strong out of the gate, building an early, building up a 12-2 lead at the 1:49 mark of the first half. The Bulls went cold in the final ten minutes of the half, eventually going back and forth with the Bulls going into the half with a 33-32 lead.

The Second half would play out in much the same way. UB, aided by Jacksonville foul trouble, jumped back out to a ten point lead. This time is was 36-46 at the 14:38 mark.

The UB lead would stay around that margin until the 5:48 mark.

Then the Bulls got out of rhythm and started to get some calls going against them.

Several times Jacksonville would close to within two possessions but the Bulls defense manage to keep them out ahead.

With the margin at just four points with 22 seconds left Dontay Caruthers, CJ Massinburg, and James Reese all went two for two at the line to seal the win.

The Bulls are off until Monday, when they kick off the Cayman Islands Classic against Cincinnati.
