Nick Perkins scored 26 points and JUCO transfer Jeremy Harris scored 15, including three late free throws which sealed the 80-75 win over cross town Canisius.
Canisius started the game very hot from beyond the arc, shooting 50% or better for a good portion of the first half. Five minutes into the game, on the strenghth of their three point shooting, the visiting Griffs held a 13-12 lead over the Bulls.
Jeremy Harris, Davonta Jordan, and Jayvon Graves scored in sequence to give UB a 18-13 lead. It’s a lead Buffalo would hold throughout the first half. Closing the first 20 minutes with a 42-39 lead.
Canisius came out strong in the second half and took the lead three minutes on on a pair of Isaiah Reese free throws. The teams would trade leads until a hot streak by Canisius gave the Griffs a 5 point lead with 8:39 remaining.
They held that lead for five minutes until CJ Massinburg tied the game with a pair from the charity stripe.
It stayed there for two minutes until Takal Molson hit a free throw at 1:14 to give Canisius the lead.
