VMI may be a better team than Daemen, but I’m not sure, and that should be illustrative when we consider Men’s Soccer’s afternoon match today.
UB is as hot as they’ve ever been. Led by MAC Player of the Week Russell Cicerone and goalie Joe Kuta, they’re the only team in the country with a 4-0-0 built on four shutouts.
VMI, on the other hand, is 0-3-0, surrendering more than three goals a game, and without a win since September 5, 2014. They’ve allowed three or more goals in 15 of their last 21 matches, and their best showing of the year is a 2-0 loss to Howard that’s notable in that it featured the Bison’s only goals so far on the season. Losing to Howard in any sport is never a good look.
On top of that, VMI hasn’t scored more than two since September 24, 2013 and has no goals this year from the run of play, with both in a 5-2 loss to Liberty coming from the the penalty dot.
It’s hard to even pick out an offensive threat for the Keydets, who had no players with more than 16 shots in 2015, and have been outshot by an average of 17-6 in three games this year.
Live video will be available here thanks to the Southern Conference.
VMI may be a better team than Daemen. If their current form continues, UB may be ranked before long. You do the math.
