This piece from the Jamestown Post-Journal is the most in-depth on Bryan Hodgson I've seen since his hire.
''I still don't know if it's even hit me yet,'' Hodgson said. ''There are guys who coach in this business their entire career and never get to the tournament.''
But the 28-year-old Jamestown High School and Jamestown Community College graduate had to wait all of 11 months to get his invitation to the ''Big Dance.'' Hired last April, Hodgson has helped Buffalo (20-14) to a 14th seed in the South Region and the Bulls open against Miami (25-7) at Providence, Rhode Island on Thursday.
And just before the game tips off, Hodgson will say a prayer for his dad Larry, who will be watching the Bulls on television from his Friendship, New York home.
The elder Hodgson, 67, is recovering from a series of health concerns that landed him in two hospitals and a rehabilitation facility since the first of the year.
