Hopefully those of you on the Eastern Seaboard that were affected by Jonas are staying safe and warm! On the UB front there was a big upset win over a nationally ranked opponent last night.

The Rundown

Tonight in Bull: Both Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball will both be on the road at Western Michigan and Miami, respectively. Women's Tennis will begin their season at home, taking on St. Francis. Women's Swimming and Diving will also return home to face Ohio.

Yesterday's News: Wrestling took home a big upset win over #22 Old Dominion, which was head coach John Stutzman's first MAC winRobby previewed the Western Michigan Broncos, saying that it may be a trap game for UB if they aren't careful. Matt recapped Men's Tennis's close match against #47 Cornell. Finally, I profiled verbal commit Justin Mulbah, who plays for former UB great Justin Winters.

From the Fanshots: Former UB AD Warde Manuel is apparently the front-runner for the vacant AD post at his alma mater, MichiganA throwback to UB's greatest comeback win at the Convo.

On the Docket: We'll have a combo gamethread for both men's and women's hoops so be sure to go there to chat during the games. We'll also have coverage of Women's Tennis and Women's Swimming and Diving as they compete.

Elsewhere:

Undergraduate applications to UB are up 10.3 percent from this time last year. Men's Basketball makes the NCAA Tournament and garners national attention and then applications spike - the Flutie Effect in action, folks. Athletics improves the quality of life on campus and more people will want to come enjoy what UB has to offer.

In sadder news, Honor Flight Buffalo is dissolving, the board members announced on Friday. Honor Flight was a non-profit organization that took World War II veterans and their guardians to the monument in Washington, DC, that was built to honor their service and sacrifice for our country. The charity made 18 flights and took over 500 WNY veterans to the memorial.
