College Football Polls Ohio Michigan State are number one and two in the AP

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

The demise of the B1G has been greatly exaggerated. For years people have pointed at the "shifting demographics" of the nation and drew the conclusion that the North East and Upper Mid-West were dying so the B1G would recede with it.

Well OSU won the title last season and they along with Michigan State occupy the one and two spot this week. Granted Northern Illinois made the Buckeye's look very mortal but right now it seems Ohio State and Michigan State control their own destiny for a top spot in the College football playoff.
