#78 UB Football Game

November 6, 1999 - UB 13, Hofstra 13

In their first season in FBS, Buffalo opened the season with a close 7 point loss before 9 games where the average score was a 43-12 UB loss. The only other close game was a November matchup against FCS Hofstra.

The game started as another rout, as Hofstra took a 20-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, a Joe Freedy to Andre Forde TD pass  and a Josh Roth TD run made the score 20-13. UB's defense adjusted and ensured Hofstra wouldn't score again, all UB needed was another score as time ran down. Despite two chances, UB turned the ball over on downs twice at the 23-yard line and Hofstra held on for the win.
