Who is wearing #83 in 2015?

Kyle Nagel

Hometown: New Paltz, New York

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Position: Tight End

High School: New Paltz

Prep (2012): Nagel played for the Milford Academy.

Freshman (2013): Nagel signed to play for FCS Sacred Heart and participated in spring practice but did not play. He left Sacred Heart to pursue play at Army, before ending up at UB.

Redshirt Freshman (2014): Nagel did not play in 2014.

Outlook: Nagel can hopefully participate on special teams in 2015, while learning the offense to make himself a TE option in 2016.

#83 UB Football Game

September 29, 2001 - UB 8, CMU 16

After allowing an early TD, UB's defense held CMU to 3 field goals in the first half and shut out the Chips in the second half. Unfortunately, Buffalo's offense didn't show up. Dallas Pelz missed a 41-yard field goal and had a 40-yard field goal blocked. A Joe Freedy fumble deep in UB's own territory led to CMU's third field goal. Instead of 13-6, UB was down 16-0 at the half.

In the second half, two UB drives were killed by interceptions and UB's offense never got going until their final possession. With 3 minutes remaining in the game, UB went on a 9 play 86-yard drive that ended with a 32-yard TD pass from Freedy to Chad Bartoszek. The duo connected on the 2-point conversion to make the score 16-8. UB's comeback ended seconds later when CMU recovered the onside kick.

The great defensive effort was stymied by the offensive blackout and the 2001 CMU game became another (now typical) close, but no cigar effort against CMU.
