ACHA Nationals Colorado 4 Buffalo 3 - Bulls furious Rally at Nationals comes up one goal short.

The Buffalo Bulls put up three unanswered goals in the third period but it was not enough to overcome the 4-0 lead which UB handed to the Colorado Buffaloes. As a result the #17 UB Bulls have been bounced from the ACHA National tournament and will start to prepare for next season.

Through most of the first period the teams traded momentum but neither UB net minder Tyler Stark or Colorado goal keeper Alex Palumbo could be beaten.

Finally towards the end of the first period Erik Kardash managed to sneak a slap shot past Stark on the short side to send the game into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

UB carried the momentum most of the second but were unable to get anything past Palumbo when Colorado forward Kardash was sent to the Box the Buffs goalie made several impressive saves to preserve the 1-0 lead. Buffalo continues to press forcing a timeout.

Coming out of the timeout Jake Bauer put one top shelf which both gave Colorado a 2-0 and seemed to suck the life out of the Bulls for the remainder of the second period. For the final seven minutes of the period it was UB holding on as the Buffs became the aggressors.

Before the third period was half over David Coleman and Elliot Polanchyck added two more goals to set up a 4-0 deficit for UB.

Then the Bulls started storming back. Dimitrios Koustsomitis finally got one past Palumbo on a sweet shot from the slot. With 6:06 left the dam broke and UB began to climb back into to the game.

Shortly after that Willie Sanchez put one home through traffic to make the score 4-2. Then with a bit over three minutes left Michael Schalberg scored a power play goal bring UB to within a goal.

With the stark pulled Brenden Robinson came close to evening the score at the 29 second mark but Palumbo made the stop and UB is heading home.
