How they got in: After losing by ten points to Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament the Mountaineers were given an at large spot.

Head Coach: "Huggy Bear", Bob Huggins , has been the head of the West Virginia Mountaineers since 2007. Huggins previously held the head coaching positions at Walsh College (1980-1983), the University of Akron (1984-1989), the University of Cincinnati (1989–2005) and Kansas State University (2006–2007).

Player to watch: Juwan Staten. Staten, a 6'1 senior, averaged 14.5 points and 4.6 assist per game this season.

KenPom ranking: 25

RPI: 24

BPI: 24

Common opponents: None.

Playing in the Big 12 gave West Virginia a lot o chances for quality wins and they cashed in. Their biggest wins may have come against Kansas anf Oklahoma

Doug Gottlieb quickly took the Bulls when the draw was announced. If the Bulls are healthy then this could be one of the more entertaining games of the first round.
