Buffalo Bulls a #12 seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, will face West Virginia in Columbus Friday

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The less-than-twenty-four-hour turnaround of UB's berth in the NCAA Championship and their placement on the bracket feels sudden and hectic, but it's probably best for us all.

Within the last hour, we learned that UB is headed to Columbus as a 12 seed, where they'll face the West Virginia and have a shot at Maryland or Valparaiso in a hypothetical second-round matchup.

The 12 seed is right where most people expected the Bulls to land with their high RPI and strong showing to end the season. In recent years, MAC teams have with the exception of Akron in 2013 been seeded 13 or lower. The last conference representative to enjoy a higher seed than Buffalo's 12 was Kent State, who claimed a #9 seed in 2008.

Buffalo's first-ever game in the NCAA Tournament will take place on the Friday-Sunday rotation. Tip-off time is not yet announced
